Become a TLC Volunteer for them

TLC's programs are totally dependent on volunteers. Only with your help and the help of others like you can TLC accomplish its goals. We appreciate all the help we receive but there is still so much to do.

Volunteers are needed to keep up our daily activities and to help us get our property ready for our move. See also Shelter/Sanctuary.

Volunteers are needed in the following areas:

To renovate the house into offices and cat care:

  • carpenters

  • repair folk

  • painters

  • clean up people

  • window glazers

  • fence installers

  • folk to haul off some unneeded items

  • and lots more

To build dog kennels:

  • concrete formers and finishers

  • carpenters

  • block layers

  • electricians

  • plumbers

  • fence installers

  • and more

To keep up with daily activities:

  • Foster Homes: All TLC animals are kept in homes of volunteers. Find out more

  • PetsMart Volunteers: Folks are needed weekly to set up for adoptions or to go to Dahlonega, Gainesville or Alpharetta to help adopt animals. This is the most important way we find homes for animals. Find out more.

  • Animal Rehabilitation: Folks are needed to socialize animals by spending time with them and doing simple obedience training with animals.

  • Animal Support: Arrange for medical care, call and check up on animals, pick up animals and take to medical care or for adoption, and many other needs.

  • Fund Raising: Help with events such as Bear on the Square in the spring, the giant yard sale in the summer, the raffles or Gold Rush in the fall. Walk dogs with harness collection cans at adoption sites and events. Help with collection boxes. Help with grant writing.

  • Membership and volunteers-maintain membership files and work on membership campaigns. Set up volunteers for events.

  • Public Relations: Help with the newsletter, the web site and promoting the organization in the media.

  • Office work: filing, stuffing envelopes, data entry

  • and lots more

There are many other opportunities to serve. Contact us and let us know how you want to help. It is good for your soul to help animals..
